Rock The Walk

What a fantastic day we had on September 10 in J.C. Saddington Park! So many people from the community joined together and Rocked the Walk! It was a fun-filled day with just over $20,000 raised, which allows us to continue providing free exercise and arts programs for people with Parkinson’s in the Peel and Halton regions. Reflecting back on an ambitious task of organizing our first Rock the Walk community fundraising event to support people with Parkinson’s Disease, we are so very proud of what we accomplished. Most importantly, we provided a forum for members of the community to learn about this neurodegenerative disease that affects so many. All of this would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our Rock the Walk committee members, sponsors, community partners, participants, donors, politicians and other supporters. On behalf of the Passion for Parkinson’s Board of Directors, we thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts. Sincerely, Tamara Boaden Chair, Passion for Parkinson’s Foundation

Spinning Wheels

The Foundation would like to thank the Spinning Wheels Team for raising awareness and funds for the Parkinson’s Community across this amazing country we all call home. Their shared passion, vision and tenacity raised $70,000 for the PFPF and more for other PD organizations along their route.

We celebrate the incredible accomplishments of Steve Iseman, Jim Redmond, Mike Loghrin and Darlene Richards-Loghrin, members of the Rigid Riders – a group of people with Parkinson’s Disease and their supporters – who have chosen to fight back against this illness. Steve and Jim, with their support team, embarked on a three-month, cross country cycle in June to connect with community members across Canada to raise awareness about the benefits of exercise to help alleviate the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease and of aligning with local support networks. Funds raised were directed towards PD organizations in each community along the way.

“We dipped our tires in the Pacific on June 25 and in the Atlantic on September 17.                  We did all 10 Provinces!

Thank you to everyone who made this a success!”

Can you Spare a Toonie?

Calling all juniors to raise $50.00. Simply ask 25 people for a toonie and you are   on your way.

Coin Wars

A coin drive is most likely the least expensive fundraiser out there. All you have to supply are jars to deposit the coins. Your coin drive can last for as long as you like and you can organize it in just minutes. Just recruit some fundraisers to carry around your jars and give donors information about why you are fundraising for Parkinson’s. You can set up a change drop off   station to simplify the process and form teams to encourage competition.

Lemonade Stand

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We have an old-fashioned authentic wooden lemonade stand just waiting to be used. Cool, refreshing and “fruitful” fun!

Bottle Drive

A little help from Mom and Dad and this is one of the most rewarding ways to fundraise.  Call on your neighbors and friends to donate their empty bottles to help raise funds.

*Don’t forget to promote your Parkinson Fundraiser through flyers, social media, word of mouth and emails!

The Passion for Parkinson’s Foundation could not achieve our fundraising goals without your support. We thank you in advance for your participation and generosity.
